At Walnut Grove High School, new students have enrolled in the spring semester classes. These brand-new students share how they adjust to the “Warrior” lifestyle.

Aaliyah Carsmalls
Junior Aaliyah Carsmalls is a new student at Walnut Grove High School. Aaliyah tells us how she is ready for a good spring semester. She described the students here at Walnut Grove and stated, “They are interesting.” Aaliyah also talks about her classes and what she likes and dislikes about them. She says, “I don't like how long [class blocks] are, and I like the work.” She continues about extracurricular activities, mentioning, “I want to be on the soccer team.” Aaliyah is looking forward to finishing high school on a good path. She said, “I want to leave with good grades and a good GPA.” Aaliyah wants to be a part of a club. Aaliyah talks about the staff and students positively. She says, “They've been pretty nice and welcoming.” Additionally, Aaliyah has a positive mindset for this semester and how it feels to be a new student here at Walnut Grove High School. ![]()
Kaelon Lockard
One of the new students, Kaelon, is currently a sophomore at WG and is looking forward to joining the soccer season with the Warriors. He transferred from Morgan County over the holiday break and enjoyed how welcoming and supportive the staff and students have been, “I would say the students here are pretty chill.” He continues, “The staff was really terrific and very welcoming.” Kaelon expresses his classes as “lowkey and pretty chill” he continues sharing he is not encountering any difficulties with his classes. Additionally, he is finding his electives quite a positive experience. As his first official week comes to a close, Kaelon will continue to be open-minded to new electives, clubs, and sports teams and consistently embody the principles of the warrior way. ![]()
Johnford Johnson
Johnford is a freshman who just entered the spring semester at Walnut Grove after moving here from New Jersey. So far, he believes that the students in his classes are very nice and respectful towards him. “...classes are very interesting,” he says about his daily schedule. He wants to join the basketball team in future years. The arrival of these three brand-new students at WG brings a fresh perspective to our community.
