A New Mystery Unfolds in Zootopia 2 (minor spoilers)

​On November 26, 2025, the new movie Zootopia 2 was released in theaters. Entertainment staff member DaNija Thomas gives her thoughts and opinions here at Walnut Grove High School.

In all honesty, Zootopia 2 was so much better than the first one. Solving a mystery where no one knew what happened, I feel like, made it more entertaining to watch. I loved how Judy and Nick never looked at Gary any other way because he was a snake and “supposedly” harmful to the city. I was literally irritated at Judy because it’s like she continued to get herself into harm—not only her, but Nick as well. I feel as if she could’ve gone about things differently than the way she did, but she wants to prove that even though she is small, she can still get the job done.

I can’t lie, the movie had me crying a little towards the end because Nick and Judy were expressing their feelings to one another, and it’s crazy because you can tell that they have been feeling this way towards each other for a long time. I understood where Nick was coming from with expressing his feelings because it can be hard sometimes, but with Judy, she made it easy for him. A lot of people doubted their partnership, which I find crazy because they work amazingly together. They are the best dynamic duo that the police department could ever have.

I loved the end when they were able to figure out that snakes were the ones who invented Zootopia City, making it a safe place for other animals to live there and to not be taken advantage of. Overall, I rate this movie an 11/10 because that’s how great it was.

As Zootopia welcomes a new chapter of mystery, heart, and hilarious chaos, one thing is clear: the city may always be changing, but its message of unity, courage, and unlikely friendship remains timeless.
