AMOR DE SUBIDA: Los Primos Del Este

Los Primos Del Este, known for their norteños, released their newest album, Amor De Subida, on August 22, 2025, consisting of lovey-dovey, romantic, and even some heartache songs that definitely make you think of that special person.

The album consists of songs that you'd dance to, and songs that you dedicate to your partner, the most popular song being “CUANDO PIENSO EN TI”. The song has a beautiful and passionate saxophone, and is more about yearning for a lost love. “Sufre mi cora porque no te tengo aqui.” (my heart suffers because you are not here.) and “Es tu ausencia la que me hace agonizar.” (It's your absence that makes me agonize.) for sure helps listeners visualize a bad heartbreak. Lead singer Geovanni Flores beautifully puts into words how it feels when someone you deeply loved and cared about leaves you, and simultaneously makes the song danceable!

“ME TIENES LOCO” is a more tender and affectionate song. Geovanni talks about how crazy he is about his love. “Me tienes loco, loco por tus ojos,loco por tus besos”( You've got me going crazy, crazy for your eyes, crazy for your kisses.) He also mentions how he still gets nervous when he meets his lover face to face. Geovanni finishes the song with this lyric: “Te deseo a ti.” (I desire you.) He makes it known to his lover that he only wants her, and only her. Again, Geovanni and his band easily make the song for people to dance to. Whether that be with a friend, or a partner, it's danceable!

As I finished listening to the album, I really liked the instrumentals. The instruments go very well together, and on top of that, the lyrics. The lyrics are words that resonate with some things that have happened to me personally, so they felt deep to me. I also really like that they featured Santa Fe Klan, who is an artist who does a totally different kind of genre. Santa Fe Klan’s voice complemented the voice of Geovanni and the instrumentals.
