Multi-billion dollar gaming platform Roblox is being sued for lack of care with protecting children on the platform. A Roblox player herself, a WGHS student shares her thoughts on the situation.

Over the past months leading into February 2026, the mobile gaming platform Roblox has been sued by multiple states for downplaying the threat of predators on the platform, with many attempting to get the platform’s CEO, David Baszucki, fired. Molly Damian (10), a Roblox lover and loyal user, shared her thoughts on the whole situation. “I was a bit surprised since Roblox is such a big corporation,” she said. “I expected something like this to happen.”

In an attempt to save face, the Roblox team implemented new features to restrict the platform’s chat. The team implemented a feature in which an AI scans a person’s face and determines their age from said scan.

Molly described the new feature as “annoying because the age check wasn’t accurate…” and due to this, “[she] couldn’t see chats from all [her] friends even though [they’re] the same age.”

Alongside all this, Molly made it known what she believed could have been done to prevent all the backlash against Roblox, from both parents and players alike. “[David Baszucki] could have done something by actually keeping [predators] off the app instead of brushing it off.”

As the situation continues and more updates roll out, many Roblox users have been moving to different platforms to find entertainment, such as the website Polytoria. As the lawsuit unfolds, many players will have to keep calm and play on.
