Week 2 is officially over and College Football had some big games, big upsets, and new Heisman nominees all over the nation.

Game Recaps
The Texas Longhorns destroyed the reigning National Champion Michigan Wolverines in a dominant game. Quinn Ewers shined, throwing for 246 yards and 3 touchdowns. The final score was 31-12 Longhorns. Jayden Colman, a big Texas fan, said, “Michigan got dawged on. Texas [is] the best team in the country and they [have] the best quarterback in the country. I thought it was gonna be a close game” A very unexpected performance for both the Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Arkansas Razorbacks. What should’ve been an easy win for the Cowboys turned into a Double Overtime thriller. Alan Bowmen did exceptionally well for the Cowboys, passing for 346 Yards and a touchdown. The final score was Oklahoma State-39, Arkansas-31. The blowout of the day was the Tennessee Volunteers and the NC State Wolfpack, The player of the game, with a big rushing game, goes to Dylan Sampson, rushing for 132 yards and two touchdowns .The final score for this game was 51-10, favoring The Tennessee Volunteers. Kaleb Willis, student at Walnut Grove, shares his thoughts about the game. “They [Tennessee] are going to do great the rest of the season. They won't be undefeated because they got Georgia and Bama [Alabama]. Our best chance is probably against Bama. Tennessee excelled [in this game].” In a match for the ages, the Colorado Buffaloes and the Nebraska Cornhuskers faced off in Nebraska. The player of the game goes to the number one recruit in the 2024 cycle, Dylan Raiola, passing for 185 yards and one touchdown. The final score for this game was 28-10 going to the Cornhuskers. Joseph Ethridge, a student at Walnut Grove, said, “They suck [Colorado]. They [are] a media team. Dylan Raiola is him. He is better than Shedeur Sanders. I was expecting the game to be closer, but Nebraska just dominated.”
The Heisman
The Heismen race is one of the biggest achievements in college football. So many players compete for the Heisman title and only one can win. The top five consist of, rankings, via Sportsnaut:
NIU Upsets #5 ND
The Northern Illinois Huskies came into this week on a first week win. They're going up against the number 5 ranked team in the country, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Everyone had their bets on Notre Dame winning this game, with the odds being at -6500 (via ActionNetwork). The start of the game looked to favor the Huskies heavily, until the Fighting Irish started a comeback. Going into the final minutes of the game, the Huskies kicked a field goal that put them ahead by two points. The final seconds of the game had come and the Fighting Irish had a chance to tie it with a 62 yard field goal, but the kick was blocked and the time ran out. The Huskies beat The Fighting Irish by a score of 16-14. In the post game interview, Head Coach Thomas Hammock was in tears talking about his team's win. He says, ”They believed. We came in here and got it done. I told them all week we didn't need to have luck, we needed to be our best and they [NIU] was the best today.” There are gonna be some big games coming up in week three, big upsets, and close games.
