Here at Walnut Grove High School there are many clubs and different ways to get involved with things.
FCA: Jordan Andrews (12) By: Talia Banks Jordan Andrews plans on graduating and going on to college. She said that “Right now I'm planning to commute to Gwinnett Tech in Lawrenceville and do their medical sonography program there.” Jordan has a plan of what she wants to do when she goes off the college and she states “I'm hoping that I can take a lot of the leadership skills that I've learned and apply them to whatever churches I go to and lead small groups and younger girls and things like that.” She also mentions that “FCA is something I started really early in high school then I started attending it and started leading it. It's just a good/safe community to just learn about god and learn about other people who want to learn about god as well.” Jordan breaks down FCA and what activities the club has and what they are currently working on, “We have different themes so right now our theme is integrity and just learning about how god sees and knows all and how doing the right thing when nobody's watching... It brings me a lot of joy to be in there and to meet new people. I love to meet new people who come in.” Lastly she talks about how she loves being in the club and how it brings delightfulness for her. She says “I enjoy the community and everybody is so kind and welcoming there and I just love it a lot.”
FFA: Caileigh Goldstein (12)
By: Tristan Banks Caileigh Goldstein is a senior at Walnut Grove high school. She is planning to become an agricultural elementary teacher . Caileigh states, “ FFA is going to lead my life because I plan to teach agriculture to students and also have a part in the FFA chapters around my community”. We can see that she already has a plan for her life after high school. Caileigh mentions that, “FFA means a lot to me, it has really helped me become the person who I am today. FFA is a leadership organization and we do a lot of fun activities to help our community. Also the students around our school and to me it is really just about making really good friends, meeting new people, and being part of our community.” “In FFA we do different activities such as this week where we do water, like hydrational awareness and we go around to all the teachers with a water bar and so we really just bring awareness to different topics... But we also went to the humane society to visit and are currently collecting letters for the first responders of Barrow county. So we really just do whatever our community needs.” She talks about the benefits about being in FFA and she says, “It looks really good on my college applications because it shows that you're part of an organization that is national so it shows that you are committed to something bigger than just at your school so that really shows that you are well-rounded.” Lastly she mentions what she enjoys doing in FFA, “I enjoy hanging out with everybody, and we always have snacks at our meetings, so that's fun and all the activities we get to do. I also like Ms. Shaw she's really cool.”
Senior students Jordan Andrews & Caileigh Goldstein have each found a club they love and in which they are very involved. They have established a way to get involved and to represent Walnut Grove High School by staying balanced with school work and club work.
Both seniors seem very outgoing and friendly which is a great way to start getting involved because you can make new friends, have a positive impact on others, and be more likely to have successful relationships. Connecting is key because it helps build relationships and more. Both seniors seem to be very supportive as well as persistent in their Warrior Pride.
