The Lady Warrior Softball team has started the season off 2-2 (via MaxPreps). They suffered an unfortunate loss against Loganville in their first game, but bounced back with a 6-2 win against Grayson, followed by a loss against Buford and a comeback win against Seckinger, 6-4.

Madison Whitley (12) says this about her pregame preparations, “I go over the things that could possibly happen. I do, so if it goes good or bad, I’m mentally prepared before the game.” She keeps her teammates in the right mindset, so they can go out and gain a victory.

The Lady Warriors Volleyball team started their 2026 campaign hot, accumulating a 7-3 record as of August 15th. The team opened up with a loss against Banks County, 2-0, but they bounced back with a four-match winning streak, beating the Prince Avenue Christian Wolverines (2-1), the Commerce Tigers (2-0), the Rockdale County Bulldogs (2-0), and the Peachtree Academy Panthers (2-0). However, they fell against the Westlake Lions (2-0).

On Tuesday, they split the night with a win over the East Jackson Eagles, 2-0, and a loss against the Apalachee Wildcats, 2-1.

On August 14th, the team sits at 7-3, after beating the Eastside Eagles, 2-1, and the Ola Mustangs, 2-0.(MaxPreps).

In the big win against Prince Avenue Christian, the Warriors won 2-1 in three sets.

They fell in the first set, 25-23, but bounced back in the second set, 25-21. In the final set, the Warriors sparked fire, winning 15-3 and securing a match win over the Wolverines.

Lena Battenfeld (11) says, “I think we have gotten off to a pretty good start. I'm really excited to see how the team does in region [play].”

Riley Bramblett (12) is very excited about how the season has started. “It gives me hope for future games.” She says the difference between this team and previous teams is “...this season, we’re more bonded and like a family.”

The Walnut Grove Softball and Volleyball teams are both on the road to greatness this year. Obtaining wins early on in the season boosts the team morale and pushes them to aim for more. The softball team has four games next week, and the volleyball team has five, so make sure to catch a game and support your Lady Warriors!
