It's Playtime! : Reviews, Expectations and Opinions on Poppy Playtime Chapter 5

As the release date of the next chapter of Poppy Playtime draws near, let us see what the public has to say about their thoughts on the newest installment of indie horror’s latest title.

As of the early and mid-2020s, MOB Entertainment’s logo has appeared on nearly every indie horror video on YouTube and TikTok alike under one name: Poppy Playtime. Many have hailed Poppy Playtime as one of the best indie horror games since the glory days of similar titles such as Five Nights at Freddy’s and the Bendy franchise. However, in the later chapters of the story, public opinion has largely swayed in the opposite direction, considering one of the newer ones not as bone-chilling as, say, Chapter 1 or 3. But with that, what is in the cards for Chapter 5?

What Did People Dislike About the Newer Chapters?
It is safe to say that, as the game has progressed, the chapters switch between being absolutely horrific to almost completely tame in their horror. Take, for instance, the public opinion of “Safe Haven” (Chapter 4) and “Playcare” (Chapter 3). Fans have criticized Safe Haven as being less scary than Playcare, due to the high bar set by the previous chapter’s gameplay and story.

In comparison to Chapter 3, Chapter 4 was far buggier and contained far fewer thrilling chase sequences, which led to a mere 69% rating on Steam in comparison to Chapter 3’s 86%.

What Do Fans Think of the Latest News Regarding Chapter 5?
With the release of Chapter 5 coming soon, the hype is large among the fandom. Fans of Poppy Playtime have high expectations for the last chapter, as this is the final piece of the puzzle that will end the game’s story. Already, fans have been crafting theories regarding new faces that were introduced in the chapter, and seem ecstatic about playing as the titular Poppy Playtime doll, who, up until this point, has been a major NPC.

However, some fans have claimed trepidation about the horror considering Chapter 4’s lack of the thrill they were looking for. But all in all, positivity is what has come out for Chapter 5 thus far.
As Chapter 5 draws closer to release and finality, the fandom waits with bated breath to see what the new chapter will be like. As the Playtime Co.’s moniker would say, “What time is it?” The answer is simple: “It’s playtime.”
