Looking Forward: Thanksgiving Break Plans

The VIRIDIAN School News staff share their Thanksgiving plans and traditions for November 28th.

My Thanksgiving Traditions (Corynne) 
Many people have family traditions on Thanksgiving. My family's tradition is watching the Thanksgiving Day parade every Thanksgiving morning. We make cinnamon rolls as we watch all the different floats pass by and sing all the songs. My family and I have created many different memories every year watching the parade. 

Favorite Thanksgiving Dish (Corynne) 
On Thanksgiving, I always fill up my plate with all my favorite Thanksgiving dishes. There are many dishes that I love but I would have to say my favorite dish is Green Bean casserole, but my second favorite is stuffing. Now, when it is dessert time my absolute favorite Thanksgiving dessert is Pumpkin pie with a lot of whipped cream! It is the best!


My Thanksgiving Traditions (Ansleigh) 
When I was younger, my family and I would celebrate Thanksgiving at my Nana’s house. She would cook elaborate dishes, casseroles, butternut squash pie, and low-sugar alternatives for my Peepaw. 

My mom’s side of the family, consisting of my Uncle Andy, my two cousins, my immediate family, and my grandparents would gather together to eat good food and have great conversations. 
Now, we don’t have a designated house we go to for Thanksgiving. On my dad’s side of the family, we always eat at my Aunt Suzi’s house. On my mom’s side of the family, we are planning on eating at my great-aunt’s house. 

No matter where I go for Thanksgiving or if we celebrate on a different day, I will always be thankful for the time I get to spend with my family.
