There’s a new business in town, and the founder’s son is a student here at The Grove that some may know. The Crescionie and DiLoreto families take on the challenge of starting a new business right here in Loganville, Georgia. Holden Crescionie (11) and his father Rene share how they take on these new hardships, as well as the good things about this newly founded franchise.
Holden Crescionie (11) said, “...one struggle is that it’s been a huge learning curve. Learning how to drive the machines, how to maintain and clean the machines, the business part of things and how we can maintain customer satisfaction and sell things, and what is expected of us as owners... A rundown of my day is I wake up at 6:00 A.M. and I go to school, then directly after school ends I go to practice until 6:00 P.M. and then I go straight to work, usually leaving between 8:30 and 9:00 P.M., which typically only leaves me with about an hour when I get home to eat dinner and do whatever homework I need to, before I fall asleep and do it all again the next day” Holden says. His father approached differently the concept of home-work balance: “I don’t. I basically do whatever it takes and spend as much time as it takes to get my business going. It’s going to be a tough year to start a business, as it will take a lot of time out of my personal life to get this business going, but hopefully, that one year of extra effort will allow me to relax in the coming years. But as of now, I don’t really have a good balance. We do most of the things at the shop and that’s how we work around it. If someone wants to be a part of our lives and hang out, they come to the shop to hang out.” Some of Holden’s daily tasks and responsibilities include: “It all depends on when I get there. If I get there when we open, I put all the machines out in front so people can see what we have to rent when they’re driving by. And then anything we got back from a rental, I have to clean and grease it, run diagnostics on it, make sure everything is good to go, and then put it back out in front to re-rent.” Although some of their opinions are different, it’s all about one thing for them. Family. Holden stated, “My favorite part about working there is that It’s a family business, so it’s nice to spend time with my family and just being able to work on such intricate machines and making sure they run properly. Although sometimes it’s difficult physically and mentally, I enjoy what I do and it is important to the community.” On a similar note, Rene said “The fact that my entire family is involved in it. My wife, my son, my son’s girlfriend, my daughter, my mother- they all come to the business and have a part in it and are helping me build it. And it’s the first business where everyone can have a role. And I really can’t say enough how awesome that part is.” The Blog Tags Widget will appear here on the published site.
