Outer Banks Season 4 Part 1: Here’s What The WGHS Staff Had to Say

WGHS students and teachers gave their opinions on the new season part 1 of OBX.

Megan Mathis (senior) said that she thought it was really good. She is also excited for the next part to come out. She said, “ Yes it did meet my expectations because JJ and Ki got together, and I like them as a couple… and like Pope too.” Megan thinks that Rafe is really cute and she is expecting them to find the gold and be rich!

Luke Blanchard (senior) says that he thinks that the best season has to be season 2. “I think that the first part of the season did meet my expectations, I’m excited to see what they do for the second part.” He thinks Rafe has grown because he is kind of a better person than he has and he also thinks that Rafe and Ki should be together. Luke also says that he is excited for part 2 when it comes out.

​Avalyn Godoy (junior) says that it was good. It was something that she kind of expected and he feels like a lot of things that happened were predictable just with the way the storyline went from the beginning but it was really good. She also says that it was really exciting and she doesn’t like how it left off with a cliffhanger. “Yeah… it was shocking, I didn’t expect a lot of parts so it made it entertaining, which is good. So yeah, I guess it did meet my expectations. There’s a lot of controversy, but probably Rafe, he was really like… weird in the beginning and then he is slowly getting better being eighth Sophia and also realizing how important family is and things like that.”

Coach Fid (teacher) says that he thinks  the first season has to be the best season. Usually when you have sequel seasons they kinda like go downward but all throughout outer banks they stayed pretty even. “It’s kind of weird that you’ve got 17, 18, 19 year old kids who keep finding treasure, but it is what it is. Love that show! But it’s been a good season so far. It did meet my expectations. I mean when you make somebody wait a year or two for one of their favorite shows to come out \, like you get super excited. It’s very suspenseful… I like the fact it’s suspenseful, so that always meets my expectations like that.” He then continues to say JJ has grown on him. “I used to not be a fan, he used to get on my nerves but he’s probably my favorite. 

Overall, the new Outer Banks season has the WGHS staff on chokehold as everyone expresses their positive thoughts on it. This new season meets everyone’s expectations which is usually not the case when  it comes to sequels, and throughout the season there has been some growth in certain characters in the show. Both students and teachers can’t wait to see what part 2 of season 4 has to offer.
