Player Profile: Xavier Malcolm

Xavier Malcom is a senior at Walnut Grove High School. He plays SF (Small Forward) and PF (Power Forward).

Intro into Basketball 
Xavier Malcom always loved basketball since he was little. He says, “My dad and grandad played basketball, and I would watch them play.”  His watching his family members play allowed him to gain love for the sport. Xavier gained enough love to play in high school and make varsity basketball.

Upcoming Season
Xavier Malcom played for Walnut Grove Varsity basketball for two years, and is very excited for his senior season. His expectation for the previous seasons was to prove himself to his family and all of his teammates that he can provide for the team. Going into his senior season, he says, “I am feeling pretty good and I have been looking forward to this for a long time.” He continues, “[I] just [want] to have a good record and do good.” 

Future Plans
Many people know Xavier, but what most people don't know is that he most likely is not going to continue his basketball career after high school. He says, “I am planning on going to the military or into trade school to be an electrician.” Although Xavier is not looking to continue his basketball career, one thing he said can change his mind is “...how this season goes… if I get any college offers, I think that is what I'll go for.”
