Students who attended wanted to see if they’d like to enroll for their future careers.
Lance Parrish One of the students who attended the field trip, Lance Parrish, went to the Georgia Tech campus to see his possible college life. Since it is a high-ranking college, Lance had good things to say: “The cleanliness was very top class because they are a top class school. I was very interested in the campus cause I'm going to the engineering pathway and I was really wondering how the campus was going to be and it was exactly what I thought it was gonna be like.” The experience has made Lance consider his plans for college, given his exceptional experience at Georgia Tech. “Yeah, I plan on going to Kennesaw State and doing their two-year transfer program to transfer into Georgia Tech for engineering. I would say I am definitely considering going to the college more. Nobody was mean even though I wore a UGA jersey by accident,” he explained. Georgia Tech has impressive engineering programs, which is right up Lance’s alley. Ashlynn Melton As a student most interested in fashion and acting, Ashlynn Melton visited the SCAD campus and had a positive experience. “The campus was not only clean, but extremely interactive. It's creative, colorful, and fun; nothing like a regular campus,” she said. At first, she didn’t have any interest in adding SCAD to her list of colleges, but after the tour her mind changed completely. She explained, “I honestly was not considering SCAD at all, but during the tour our guides told me about their equestrian team at their Savannah campus. ... I was definitely intrigued, and put SCAD on my list.” The tour at SCAD has definitely left Ashlynn with another option. All in all, WGHS’s field trip to tour SCAD and Georgia Tech's campuses has left multiple students intrigued and interested in applying. These two colleges fit Lance and Ashlynn’s career choices in the future. The Blog Tags Widget will appear here on the published site.
