Balancing Being a Student-Athlete
Burrow's routine during the school week is attending two classes at WGHS, going to work, and then heading to swim practice.

“This routine has become my life,” Burrows explains.

She doesn’t have to study much anymore, but she does have to balance Dual Enrollment within her schedule.

“I only have two [on-campus] classes right now. I like to stay busy with school, work, and practice,” Burrows shares.

If she does have time between work and school, she will work on homework.

Her Inspirations
This is Burrow’s second year being on the swim team. She says, “I have a half-and-half relationship with swim. Sometimes I love it, but other times it can be tiring.”

Her coaches are her main inspiration because they encourage her in and out of the pool.
Burrows states, “Coaches encourage me by telling me to keep going when I’m tired at practice. They will tell me, “Keep going, you’re doing great.” They inspire her to keep moving forward.

Coach Brinley, a past WGHS teacher and swim coach, has consistently been there for Burrows and her teammates.

“A past teacher, Coach Brinley [for the swim team], still attends our practices, encourages us, and helps us work on our swimming form. She’s always been there for us,” she explains.
Coach Conner works hard to help Burrows and her fellow teammates, even though she has been through surgery recently.

Future Aspirations
Burrows wants to become a marine biologist when she attends college. “I want to go to college either at, Georgia Southern University or Gwinnett Technical School,” she says.

She will not be participating in any school swim team in the future. “I will be too busy in college to participate in a swim team.”
