Cameron Selman is a Senior at Walnut Grove. He plays basketball and football for the school.
by Justin Andrio and Kaden Cragin
In Cameron’s early life, he always knew he wanted to play football and basketball. His family always pushed him to be his best self and to strive for greatness. He says, “When I was five, I saw my whole family playing [Football/Basketball] and from then on, I always knew I wanted to play these sports.”
It has been hard juggling two sports for Cameron, but he has overcome the challenges and the hardship that balancing two sports brings. Cameron comments on how he balances being a two sport athlete, “...for me, the hardest thing to maintain is my weight because in football you don't run as much as in basketball. It's also hard because I get there a little late, so you gotta learn quickly.” For Cameron, football was always his first option because he was best at it. But even if sports don't work out for him, he has a plan for the future. “After this year I just wanna go to college and stay in nutrition. If I don't get an opportunity to play in college, hopefully, I get a job at the USDA.” Cameron Selman's future is bright. Seeing him play and win games in both sports here at Walnut Grove is always fun. Look out for number zero whenever you go to your next Warrior football game, and look out for number 25 when basketball season starts! The Blog Tags Widget will appear here on the published site.
