The WGHS Boys and Girls Soccer team beat Winder-Barrow on Friday night on February 14, 2025.

Varsity Boys (MaxPreps) The Boys Soccer team beat Winder-Barrow in a blow out of 2-0. Player Stefan Jackson(Sr #15) scored the 2 goals of the game and earned 2 points. The team made a total of 2 assists during the game. Player Bryson Utes-Fouser provided the 2 assists of the game and earned 4 points. In total, the team ended the game with 6 points. The boys are now charging ahead with 3-0 win/loss ratio. When asked how he felt before the game, player Jean Franco Loria (Jr) said he felt, “Relaxed, it wasn't too tense because it was a normal game.” Wyatt Hawkins (So) also felt relaxed before the game, but he also felt “tired and cold.” Both of them were happy after the game, and Jean stated that a big highlight of the game was, “the first goal because we made a really long pass and scored a goal.” Wyatt also felt that a good highlight from the game was when the team scored the first and second goal. Wyatt went on to say that the team was able to work so well together by making really good passes to score against Winder-Barrow. Varsity Girls (MaxPreps) The Girls Soccer team also destroyed Winder-Barrow in a 4-0 game. Player Hannah Booth (Jr) felt confident in her abilities and her team’s abilities before their game. After the game, she felts even more confident. When asked what some highlights were for the team, she responded with, “We had good communication and supported each other with positivity.” She also went on to say that the players' really good “connections with passes” were ways that the team really worked well together ![]()
Jefferson Game (MaxPreps)
The boys also won against Jefferson on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. It was a very close game. The boys came back from an 0-2 loss and ended the game 3-2. Jean Franco Loria felt confident before the game. However, he was a little nervous because They won against them last year. Adam Landers felt more confident about the match. After the game, both Jean and Adam felt extremely happy because of the comeback during the game. When asked what some highlights were for the Warriors, Jean stated, “The first half when we scored our first goal.” However, Adam responded with, “coming back from losing 2-0.” Adam made a point that the team was able to work so good together and push back Jefferson because, “we just stayed focused.” Unfortunately, the girls lost against Jefferson. However, they’re ready to win more matches in the future. The Varsity Soccer teams are still focused and motivated to blow out the rest of the teams on their schedules for the following season.
