As last week's game concluded with a win, The Grove's run game dominated the Titans with multiple rushing touchdowns. Quarterback Billy Hendrix (11) commented on the team's performance. "I think we played well and played together as a team. I think I could've played a little better by completing some [more] passes." Even though the Warriors' passing game wasn’t the star of the show, the rushing game stole the spotlight. The Warriors were able to score multiple long rushing touchdowns, including a monstrous 83-yard run from Hendrix. The huge run coming out of halftime featured multiple broken tackles and left defenders disoriented.
The Warriors' special team played a huge part. Brody Conley (11) broke off a huge 75-yard return for a touchdown. Conley also scored an impressive 44-yard TD run. He says, "I think the team did really good and a lot of people showed out for sure… I feel like I did pretty good, I got two touchdowns. The thing I probably could have done to help more was block. I just have to focus a little more on that next game." Kicker Zach McDaniel (12) also had a big game. Zach went 100% on PATs and also recorded a career-long 47-yard field goal. Zach’s great performance from last year continues to shine as his senior year begins. The Warriors' defense excelled throughout the game. The team forced three total turnovers, including two interceptions and a fumble recovery. Nathan Nunn and Jackson Andrews both recorded an interception, while Colby Penn recovered a fumble. The Warrior run defense shined by only allowing 25 total rushing yards throughout the entire game. The Warriors’ defensive domination didn’t stop there, as they also blocked a PAT. The Warrior football team is preparing for its next game against cross-town rivals, the Loganville Red Devils. The Warriors are facing the Red Devils at home this week, so come show out for our Warriors and show your pride by wearing white! The Blog Tags Widget will appear here on the published site.
