Walnut Grove Softball has been dominant over the last couple of games with a comeback win over Seckinger on August 14th, and a win/loss against North Oconee on August 19th.

Comeback win over Seckinger:
On August 14th, the Walnut Grove Warriors Softball team played the Seckinger Jaguars at home. They came back from a 4-1 deficit and scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game at 4. In the very next inning, the Warriors took the lead by two runs and eventually went on to win the game. Rylee Hopkins, 11th, said the strategy for the game was “just communication and keeping everyone up”. Stat Highlights vs Seckinger include:
Coming into this game, the Lady Warriors were 1-2 on the season coming off a loss against the Buford Wolves. After the win, they now level out their win/loss record heading into the North Oconee game.
North Oconee:
The Lady Warriors faced off against North Oconee in their first region matchup. Going into this game, the Lady Warriors had a load of confidence after their comeback win against Seckinger. In their two meetings from last season, Warriors went 2-0 against North Oconee. In the first inning, North Oconee opened the game with a three–run home run. From then on, Lady Warriors were fighting an uphill battle, and eventually gave up more runs to the Titans. At the end of the game, the Lady Warriors fell 8-1. Looking Forward:
Going forward, the Warriors have a very tough schedule, with matchups against the Apalachee Wildcats, the Mary Persons Bulldogs, the Cedar Shoals Jaguars, the Madison County Bulldogs, the Eastside Eagles, and the Flowery Branch Falcons. Rylee Hopkins (11th) and Addison Simpson (12th) were asked about how they can do for the rest of the season. Rylee: “I just hope that we’ll do as best as we can, and see where that takes us.” Addison: “I think we're gonna do really well in region, and Eastside is gonna be our biggest opponent.” The Lady Warriors will be back in action in another region matchup on Saturday, August 23rd, with a double-header facing Apalachee and Mary Persons.
