Autumn Gibbs First Time At Thescon
Eleventh grader Autumn Gibbs experienced her first year at Thescon. Her favorite workshop was improv. “We threw dice, and it gave us a scenario where we had to perform the scenario in front of the group,” she explains. She feels the workshop helped her further her skills in acting and dancing. Autumn enjoys bonding with her friends which they ended up doing together on the trip. “I liked bonding while walking to a show or walking somewhere together. That was fun.”
Nevaeh Bryant First Time At Thescon Eleventh grader, Nevaeh Bryant enjoyed her first Thescon. She feels that it was exciting, but it was also nerve-wracking for her. “I was nervous because it was really out of my comfort zone, and I’m not used to doing things like that,” she explains. She liked dancing in the Wicked workshop, but she wanted to do the facial expressions [workshop]. Her favorite part about the trip was probably being in the hotel and bonding with her group. “Bonding with all of my castmates was fun and just getting to know everybody better.” ![]()
Samuel Camarena Reminiscing About Sophomore Year
Senior Samuel Camarena has been to Thescon for three years, and he feels that it gets better and better each time. He explained that sophomore year would be a lot better than any other year because that’s when it was new to him. “...it was very hard to navigate [the conference] because it’s like three square miles…” he explains. He participated in British and New York accent workshops. He enjoyed the trip, and he will miss Thescon due to it being his last year. “I would say just spending time with my friends, eating well, seeing amazing shows, and going to all the shows [made him happy].” ![]()
Favorite Plays Seen at Thescon
Camarena and Bryant enjoyed many plays throughout their stay at Thescon. “I saw shows like Jekyll and Hyde, Beetlejuice, and Ride the Cyclone,” Camarena explains. Bryant also liked Matilda and Beetlejuice. She says, “I liked Beetlejuice because you could tell [that the cast] were passionate about what they were doing. And I've always loved Matilda.” The Blog Tags Widget will appear here on the published site.
