Game Recap (Stats via MaxPreps)
In Tuesday’s victory, Branson Blalock threw 113 pitches across 5 2/3 innings. He struck out nine, walked only three, and allowed only one run. Blalock also went 3-for-3 at the plate; he hit two doubles, drove in a run, and was also hit by a pitch. Gray Jones was also stout at the plate, driving in two runs on two hits and scoring a run himself.

As a team, the Warriors hit .286 with eight hits and four RBIs. Branson Blalock and Eli Williams combined for 10 strikeouts on the mound and only one earned run across 129 pitches in seven innings.

Cole Roberts (#1) is a sophomore who plays third base. When asked how the game went, he stated, “We played good, we played hard, [and] we did what we had to do to get the job done. We could have had better approaches at the plate and executed our job more.” He noted that the turning point of the game was, “[in the] second inning, whenever their pitcher lost control and started walking us, we started taking advantage of that.” Regarding his personal strategy, Cole said, “I let the ball do the work.” On areas for growth, he added, “We could have better approaches at the plate and execute our job more.”

Brayden Fleming (#16) is a freshman who plays center field. He shared his opinion on the team’s overall performance: “I think we did pretty well. I think we competed with [North Oconee], put the ball in play, pitched well, and worked as a team.” He identified the turning point as, “when we scored three runs in the second inning—Branson Blalock getting a double, Gray Jones bagging a single, and a lot more walks.” Brayden stated the strategy used to win was to “just [go] in there and [play] baseball. We knew the pitchers were going to throw strikes at us, and we just acted on it.” He concluded that the team could have improved by “[scoring] more runs when we needed to. We let up too many bad runs, and we could have swung at better pitches.”

Bryson Horn (#13) is a sophomore who plays shortstop. Bryson shared how he felt the team performed: “I think we did good. We could have hit the ball a little better and [struck] out less.” Bryson explained that the turning point of the game was “the second inning when we scored three runs.” When asked about the strategies used to win the game, he said, “We used base strategies to score during the game.”

The Warriors played a hard game and came out on top once more! Through determination and perseverance, the team worked together to defeat North Oconee. Come out and support our Warrior baseball team against Madison County on Tuesday, March 24, 2026!
