On Monday, March 2, 2026, the Walnut Grove Warriors JV Boys soccer team played against the Cedar Shoal Jaguars on its home field. Unfortunately, the Warriors fell with a score of 0–2.
The Warriors fought hard against Cedar Shoals but were sadly defeated in the end. They ended the first half of the game tied 0–0, then decided to start the second half with all the players who previously hadn’t started. Tucker Wallace, a sophomore, mentions that the game was a bit of a "hard play." He said, “It was a little bit of a hard game because we decided to put our whole bench on during the game. We played decently. Our offense couldn’t shoot the ball, but the defense did pretty well.” He explains that the team could have tried to pass the ball more instead of just dribbling it around. When asked about what the team could do to prepare for future games, he said, “We need to have better drills during practice and not just scrimmages like we normally do. We also need to practice getting our defense to kick it up to the offense more so they can actually take shots and not just play with the ball.” AJ Diaz (10) also had some views on how the game went. “We should’ve focused more during the first half, since it was 0–0. Midfield played well, but sometimes they were too high up, which caused there to be a lot of space in the middle. We just had an unfortunate game, but we’re definitely going to improve.” Even though the Warriors had a loss to the Jaguars, the team is determined to work harder and get back on top. The JV teams will be traveling to South Gwinnett for their next game on Monday, March 9, 2026. Make sure to come out and support your Warrior teams!
