Joshua Seagars, junior, speaks about how the team has grown and has had a very successful game against Apalachee. Joshua also talks about why his team has been doing well against Apalachee. He said it’s mostly because the team works together and trusts one another. He explained, “We are just a better team overall… we trust our guys, and we’re like family.” This shows that the team is very close and all support each other during games. He also mentions that having good players and strong pitchers helps them win, saying they have “better pitchers and better players all around.”
He also talked about how important it is to stay calm in big games. Playing in high-pressure situations can be hard, but he believes trusting your training makes a big difference. He said, “Just trust yourself… you’ve been practicing all summer, so you just have to trust your instinct.” This means players should believe in what they’ve practiced and not allow themselves to get too nervous. Cole Roberts, sophomore, also talks about his baseball season so far. Cole thinks that the reason his team has been better is because of how united they are. He says, “We continue to get hits together, add onto the score, and work well together.” Cole was asked what the most exciting memory of the game against Apalachee is. He says, “I remember when Gray Jones got a triple and that scored two runs, and I got us a run.” Cole gives us great tips on how to handle a stressful game. He mentions, “You just have to focus on what you're doing and just have confidence in yourself and your ability.” Cole also gives upcoming high school athletes some good recommendations for how to be a better player. He explains, “You have to work every day, really keep pushing to get one percent better with everything, and just no matter what, be confident in yourself.” Overall, the team’s success comes from working together, trusting each other, and being prepared. These things help them play their best, even when the game is tough. The Warriors will play against Flowery Branch in a doubleheader on April 16, 2026.
