Madison Myers, a senior at Walnut Grove High, gets ready to roll out and explains her love for the sports she plays. She competes in cross country and plays flag football and ladies' soccer.
Madison has played sports since she was three years old: “To follow in my father’s footsteps; he played soccer all of his life, so I wanted to play soccer, and then started flag football because my friends were doing it, and I fell in love with it, and then running cross country to stay in shape for all these things.” Having competed for a while, Madison is using the bittersweet reality of her final high school season as motivation to work harder: “Realizing that this is my last year for high school sports, and that I have to move on and continue…” Doing extracurriculars such as Beta Club and National Honor Society, she holds her academics in check but still notices the challenges of balancing them: “It’s a lot of work; you have to learn how to balance it all and get it all done within a timeline.” In the future, she plans on “...playing college soccer, maybe flag football too, and being a teacher.” The Grove gives her hope and luck for her future! Walnut Grove is sad to see her go but proud to have called her a Warrior. The Blog Tags Widget will appear here on the published site.
