Teachers and Students from WGHS share a little about what their thanksgiving looks like. Telling the foods they eat, the activities they do, down to their family traditions. by Mackenzie Smith and Nyla Ferguson Mrs. Boyett, a visual arts teacher here at WGHS, shares. “So as a Brit, we don't usually celebrate thanksgiving but now I'm here we go to my mother in laws and eat turkey, dressing, and all those things” Followed by a tradition she takes part in, "I eat a lot and go shopping. I do like shopping.” She states she tries to spend time with family, sometimes she and her family will go see a movie and then eat ridiculous amounts of food. Lastly, talking about her plans for the break. “My son has a soccer tournament so we will be out of town for that on the weekend and as soon as midnight hits on thanksgiving day we are putting up the Christmas tree and the decorations.”
Jackson Conley, a junior, shares his love for turkey on thanksgiving. When asked what foods he eats during thanksgiving he says, “I be eating that turkey, the green beans, I be eating that ham, I be eating everything.” “A family tradition I take part in every year is going to my grandma's house and eating the turkey.” Jackson also states that watching the thanksgiving parade with his family is an activity they do every year together. Followed by what he plans on doing over the thanksgiving break. “I plan on going to the weight room, eating that turkey, getting bigger, and growing closer to God.” Michael McInnis, the freshman representative, says, “Just a typical turkey, ham, and cranberry sauce, all that stuff but I haven't had a good Thanksgiving meal in a while. Also talking about a tradition he takes part in. “I usually write note cards noting what I'm thankful for, then I pass it on to my family and friends so I'm working on those for this year” Activities he takes part in, “I'm eat a lot and i would watch a movie I'm not really a video game person but board games are fine” Lastly talking about his thank giving plans “i don't have any plans as of right now but I'm thinking about hanging out with family” Do you have any exciting plans for this Thanksgiving?
