Golf Recap vs. George Walton

On Monday, March 4th, the Walnut Grove Boys and Girls golf team faced off against George Walton High School at Monroe Country Club. Both teams won their match in dominant fashion.​

Boys Final Score: 163-182
In the boys' match, 4 of the top 6 scores are taken from each school. Scoring for the boys was Luke Blanchard, Abram Tisdale, Jackson Herrick, and Brody Goodbar. As a team, they totaled only 19 over par. Junior Luke Blanchard was pleased by his performance and by the team's potential this season, “I shot 37 through 9 (1 over par), and I think that we will make it to state easily.” 

Girls Final Score: 168-183
In the girls' match, only 3 of the top 5 scores are taken from each school. Scoring for the girls was Graycee Abbott, Christina Casey, and Makayla Battle. The three of them outscored George Walton by a combined 15 strokes. Makayla Battle also thinks this team has what it takes, “I think that the team can go pretty far. This is my first year playing, so I'm still learning how everything works, but we have a really strong team this year, and we’re only going to get better with time.”

The Warriors seem really confident going into the season and now look to continue their 2-1 start to the season with a match Tuesday, March 12th against Apalachee at Pine Hills Golf Club.
