We saw the movie June, 9th 2023. IMDb explains it well without giving any spoilers, “A detective investigates a mystery involving his missing daughter and a secret government program.” The movie stars Ben Affleck (Danny Rourke), Alice Braga (Diana Cruz), and William Fichtne (Dellrayne), etc. 

Nevaeh: 
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Ben Affleck is one of my favorite actors, so when I heard that he was in an action movie other than Batman, I was excited. This movie requires your full attention at all times; missing something could cause you to be very confused. The reason the movie really hit home for me is because it messes with my mind. It was an illusion, and I couldn’t decipher if things were real or not. The movie also has a huge plot twist that caused shock for everyone in the theater. 

I’m not usually a big fan of psychological movies unless it falls into the horror genre. However, Hypnotic really opened my eyes to movies that include things like that. I would rate this movie a 10/10, It was honestly one of the best movies I’ve seen this year. I recommend this movie to everyone. It is a rated R movie, so we recommend asking a parent for permission. 


Cheyenne:
I really loved this movie, if you actually pay attention, it’s not that hard to get. Although... I was confused for almost the whole movie.   

It was all action, so I was kind of bored during it because there wasn’t anything to lighten the mood. I don’t like movies that are that far on the serious side; however, there were shocking moments and I needed to know what was happening. 

I really do like movies that make you have to think about what’s going to happen. At the end, there was a twist that brought it all together for me. I think this movie was pretty good. It wouldn’t normally be something I’d choose to watch with my friends, maybe with my parents. I rate this movie a 6.5/10. 


Overall, we think this was a pretty good movie. IMDb rated this movie a 5.4/10. There are mixed reviews as expected for any movie, some people seem to think the concept was good and creative, but it wasn’t carried out in the best way.
