The Thundermans, a cheesy and fun classic that came out in 2013, returns to Nickelodeon and Paramount+ after the show ended six years ago. WGHS fans give their thoughts and opinions on the new movie and Nickelodeon.
Freshman Sadie West, Junior Dalton Hewell, and Senior Zy’Mir Taylor all come to the same conclusion that the movie was pretty good. “The Thundermans movie has been a great nostalgic memory to a lot of people. The wit and adventures of our favorite characters were really brought back to life,” Sadie commented. Zy’Mir recollects from his childhood, “I think The Thundermans movie is great. I remember being excited when it came out back in, I think, 2013. I was pretty upset when it ended in, like, 2018...” The trio once again agreed that this movie lived up to their expectations. Dalton commented, “This movie, perchance, was as good as other shows and movies. Both Spongebob movies were peak and the Paw Patrol movie had a lot of good animation, so this movie had a lot of potential to live up to.” Sadie observed the child-like aspect of the movie. “This movie is related to some other Nickelodeon shows and movies because it’s filled with action and adventure that normally can keep younger minds going and entertained by the plot.” While Dalton and Sadie had a more positive point of view on the movie, Zy’mir was quite the opposite. “I feel like it was what was expected. Compared to other movies, this one wasn’t as great. The CGI was pretty bad, but it was also bad in the show, so it’s not unexpected. I think some other Nickelodeon shows were better.” He continues by expressing his adoration for a favorite show, “Nothing can beat the Spongebob movies.” The three share some other movies they would like Nickelodeon to come out with and some of their personal favorites. Sadie mentions, “I would love to see Sam and Cat or Victorious to be made into a movie.” She expressed that she loved The Fairly Odd Parents and iCarly, but didn’t like Spongebob or Lizzie McGuire. However, Dalton expressed that he very much did not like Sam and Cat or Victorious. Instead, he says, “I would want Henry Danger to come back, but just him and Captain Man again because the new kids are weird.” He also said he thoroughly enjoyed Thundermans, iCarly, Henry Danger, Spongebob, and the Fairly Odd Parents. Zy’Mir chimes in with, “I think Nickelodeon should make a movie about Doug because it’s a funny and classic show.” Like his peers, Zy’Mir expressed his love for Spongebob, Bubble Guppies, The Loud House, and Henry Danger.
