Girls Season The girls finished 17th in the 4a division in Georgia. Junior Ella Stover described the season and some of her favorite moments. “My favorite game is East Forsyth because we played really well, we put everything together, and we were all very hyped up about it.” She also talked about how some off-field interactions impacted the team. “We did NG 3 stuff on Sundays and so we will like to hang out as a team. We efficiently got a lot better at the end because we hung out a lot more outside of the school.” Lastly, she compared the team chemistry from past years, saying, “We bonded really good this year especially considering past years and stuff, we were just closer as a team.” The team started the season off hot, then had to fight some adversity, but handled it well as they continued to grow as a team. (MaxPreps.com) Boys Season At the end of the season, the boys varsity team finished 6th in their region and 106th in the state of Georgia. Aidan Bird, a junior, shares with us how he feels about how the team did across the season, “We did pretty good, we tied the school record for a season which was 11-7. We kind of bonded because most of us always showed up to practice and got together, sometimes we would argue but we would get over it”. Walnut Grove Boys Varsity school record was 11-7 and the 2024 season was very close to beating it. Aidan also talked about his favorite moments with the team, “I would say my favorite game was probably Seckinger because we all played really well. Also, my best memory with the team was on senior night, and a bunch of our seniors scored that night.” The boys had a strong run this season with a bunch of familiar faces leaving due to being a senior. (MaxPreps.com) All in all, it was a pretty good season for the Warriors. They beat some rivals and just came up short from making it to state. Seniors leaving have seen the improvements in the program over the past couple of years, and returners are looking to keep the program on the rise. The Walnut Grove High School soccer team will continue to improve over the offseason, and will be a force to reckon with come next year. The Blog Tags Widget will appear here on the published site.
