Walnut Grove Superb in Track Regionals4/17/2024

The Walnut Grove track team performed exceptionally well in the Track Regional meet on April 16th, 2024. Boys Track team was declared Region Champs! The event was held at North Oconee High School in Bogart, Ga.

Walnut Grove and North Oconee clashed this past week. North Oconee has a respectable soccer team with both the boys and girls. Walnut Grove had high expectations, but both of our teams fell just short of victory.

Varsity Soccer Recap vs. Madison County3/22/2024
Walnut Grove’s varsity soccer teams will be competing away at Madison County on March 18th. They are confident they will secure the victory. Both the boys and girls from our school have been practicing their skills to further their dominance on the field.

2024 Wrestling State Placers3/6/2024
On Thursday, 2/15 through Saturday, 2/17, GHSA hosted their wrestling state championship tournament. Seven of the wrestlers from Walnut Grove competed, and four of them placed top five or higher.

On the four-day the weekend, the Boys Varsity Baseball and Soccer teams played and both won. The Boys Varsity Basketball team played Pace Academy in the State Playoffs on Wednesday the 21st.

On the 16th, 17th, and 18th of January, WGHS held soccer tryouts at the WGHS soccer fields for students wanting to play soccer. The teams were posted on the 19th, and players have high hopes for the season.

On Friday, January 12th, 2024, the Walnut Grove JV Boys, Varsity Girls, and Varsity Boys teams all fell to North Oconee’s teams. According to Coach Dennis Whitley, the teams have been working through injuries and sickness and have been reworking their game strategies, building beyond these losses.
