Walnut Grove High School currently has 11 football coaches on their staff. Two of the football coaches are here to share their personal lives outside of coaching.

Coach Andrews is the head coach for the WGHS varsity football team but has many different aspects to life other than football. Having coached football for almost 25 years and having multiple good seasons; when asked what he does outside of football, he states “Spend time with my family” with this we can tell he is a father at heart who loves competition.  When asked what sport he would coach outside of football he states “I love all sports, I love competition, I love to compete, I'd coach tiddlywinks if they had it.” Having a love for competition he is able to push players to their best. Junior Cameron Selman, was asked to describe Coach Andrews in one word and he responded with “Nice”.

Coach Carrafa is the strength and conditioning coach for the WGHS varsity football team. He has been coaching for a total of 8 years. When he is not helping the team on the field or in the weight room, he plays golf. When asked what sport he would love to coach besides football, Carrafa responded “I do coach track and field, not the runners… but the throwers; but golf is another sport I would coach.”

When asked to describe Carrafa, Cameron responded yet again with one word: “Loud”.

The WGHS coaches are one of the most valuable elements in our school. They take the time to teach on and off the field. They allow us to reach greater heights and become the best versions of ourselves; so next time you see the coaches, tell them that you appreciate them for what they do at WGHS.
