Emery Langston, a Senior at WGHS is on the offensive side of the ball for the WGHS Varsity football team. From a teammate to a team leader, he is a person people look up to.
With his dad inspiring him to start in the second grade, Emery has been in love with everything about the sport since a young age. Emery likes to “stay locked in” on the field, but finds himself being the same person off the field as he spends time with his friends and his girlfriend. “I do consider myself to be a leader of the team,” Emery says. Aiden Bryant, a Senior on the football team was asked if Emery drives him to be a better player, “It's more of a competition thing. Me and him go at it.” Other than Emery inspiring people; when asked who inspires him he states “Julio Jones and Julian Edelmen and all the receivers are who I base my game style off of.”
With the first few games wrapped up Emery still has lots of time to put in. Unfortunately the team as a whole hasn't been up to the standards of last year, but Emery still has a positive mindset. “We lost two games so far that I think we should have won, but I think the rest of the season will go better.”
Head Coach Robert Andrews praises Emery highly, “Emery has improved every single year. He has an incredible work ethic. He demonstrates a desire to be the very best player and teammate that he can be day in and day out.” Even coaches see him as a star player and person. Emery Langston, a number on the field but a person off it, looks to continue his life at UGA. The Blog Tags Widget will appear here on the published site.
