Abram’s Job Offer
Abram Tisdale got a job offer last week from ER Snell. He will start this job on June 3rd. He feels that this offer is a special achievement. Abram says, “It was exciting to get a job offer from the company. It's a big thing to get when you're a young kid like me.” The process of earning the job appears easy (he only had to answer a few questions), but the hard work and dedication helped him succeed. His job working at ER Snell will give him more opportunities in the future. “I want this job because it's self-satisfying, and it’s a prominent business to be associated with,” he includes. Getting this job at a young age will help him climb the company ladder, and will eventually help him get a higher paying position. He will also learn new skills while working with ER Snell. He says, “Hopefully, I can learn how to use the machines better. It will eventually lead to getting more experience, and getting a better job later in my life.”
Students Take on the ER Presentation
Tenth graders, Jackson Hughes, and Jake Moss attended the ER presentation during their first block engineering class. Jake deciphers the intellect of the information he was given at the presentation. “I think the presentation was really good. They taught us a lot about the machinery they used on job sites (bulldozer and crane),” he states. During the assembly, students were allowed to try out the crane simulation. “In the simulation, it felt like I was in the crane,” Jake mentions. Students also learned how to “drive” a remote-controlled bulldozer. “I like the simulation better because it was more interactive,” he concludes. Jackson shares with us the adventures he had while at the presentation. “Yes, if I were to pursue engineering, that would be the company I would go to. The benefits they give to the workers are really good,” Jackson says. At the presentation, Jackson says, “There was an RC car, with a bulldozer and an excavator. There was also a simulation with a crane and an activity where you had to guess the different tools they had sat out.”
