WGHS Students and Staff give their hot takes on the Worst Halloween ideas for costumes. 

With Halloween being around the corner, this month is full of different costumes. However, there are some costumes that people get tired of seeing. Junior, Ivey Arrington states, “...Harley Quinn has been so overused a million-thousand times… or like, dressing up as other people’s cultures, like dressing up as a Native American…” she adds. “Stop doing that, please.” 

Some prefer to see more of a specific costume. Coach Williams says, “A ghillie suit. ‘Cause it’s camouflage and you scare the crap out of people.” He later adds his own opinion on the holiday, “Halloween sucks- they just make candy expensive.” 

Junior Luke Blanchard expressed his favorite costumes. “Gnomeo and Juliet because it’s creative, and I like it.” Luke doesn’t make his own costumes, instead he gets them from Amazon or Party City. 

Ivey also gives us her favorite costumes of the season. “...Poison Ivy because I’m gonna look so cute, and it’s my name… and my friend Gianna’s gonna be a Cat Woman, and she’s gonna look amazing.” She also believes that the inflatable dinosaurs are an overused joke. She would rather see more superheroes. “Bring ‘em back…” she states.

The costumes this year sound creative and fun. We hope to see costumes that are funny, scary, and cool.
