Kanye (VULTURES 1) and Beyonce (TEXAS HOLD 'EM & 16 carriages) new releases

In February, artists Kanye West and Beyoncé dropped new albums, Vulture I and Texas Hold ‘Em. The WGHS community gives their feedback on both albums.

In February, artists Kanye West and Beyoncé dropped new albums, Vulture I and Texas Hold ‘Em. The WGHS community gives their feedback on both albums. 

Physics teacher Coach Ham thinks that “Kayne sounds the exact same. All of Kanye's albums are very Kanye, like College Dropout and Yeezus. Beyoncé is trying to mold more people and get more exposure. Kanye is just doing his normal thing.” 

He states that he wouldn’t listen to Beyoncé on his own time, “My wife played it in the car ride the other day and I was like ‘What in the country is this?’ If she does release a whole country album, it would be very interesting because she went from Destiny’s Child to making all of her own stuff to making hip hop to a country song…”

Talking about how Beyoncé compares to other country artists, he comments, "She’s trying too hard.” He ends off with saying he wouldn’t go to Beyoncé or Kanye’s concert.

Nevaeh Patrick (Junior) commenting on the new albums said, “I don’t really like Kanye, but I still like his album a little more than Beyoncé’s.” She then declares, “Beyoncé did really well on her country album, I don’t really listen to country but I do like some country songs. I think it just goes to show that Beyoncé can do everything and more.”

“[Kanye’s] music is good, but I don’t really like the fanbase,” she continues. “If I had a choice to go to a Beyoncé concert or a Kanye concert, I would pick Beyoncé. I think Kanye’s music is better, but... it’s Beyoncé, so who wouldn’t want to go?”

Hayden Ross (Junior) shared her thoughts on the artists’ new music. “I really love Beyoncé’s new songs; I really like the sound of them, they really have a nice beat!” She carries on by admitting, “When I first heard that she was going to make a country album, I said, ‘Oh I bet she won’t.’ but she did and did really well.” Hayden had other things to say about Kanye West. “I would never go to a Kanye concert because I hate him and his music.”



The recent albums, Vultures I and Texas Hold ‘Em both being released around the same time, Kanye’s on February 10th and Beyoncé’s the following day, these albums seem to be getting a lot of mixed opinions and attention from the public. Beyoncé also came out with another country song "16 Carriages" the same day as a surprise release during the Superbowl.
