Devrahj Singh shares his experience with making the Varsity Soccer team as a freshman.

Making it on the varsity team as a freshman is not easy. You have to be able to handle the pressure of playing with seniors, juniors, and sophomores at such a young age, and that is what Devrahj Singh is capable of. His experience is different from others- most players don't get the varsity experience until sophomore, junior, or even senior year.

He stated, “I was expecting to be on varsity because my club soccer team is very good and one of the top teams in the state of Georgia, and I am one of the more experienced players on the team”. Since the start of the school year he has been practicing and playing to get prepared to make varsity.

He has been playing with his club team to get him ready for the high school season. As he played his first soccer game as a freshman on varsity he stated, “it was a very different experience from other places I play because I usually play against people my age but now I have to play people older than me and most of the time bigger than me. Although my first game was not the best, I could've done better and been more prepared.”
Devrahj feels like his being a freshman on varsity convinces people who didn't make varsity to improve themselves and be better. “I feel like I bring nothing but positivity to the team and me being on this team at such a young age makes me act more mature and serious about the team”. It is different, experiencing this at such a young age, and Devrahj is handling it very well.

He stated, “I will continue to work hard and do better the next game and do even better the game after.” Devrahj enjoys playing on varsity and will continue to improve and work hard for himself and the team.
