Sophomore football player, Emadd Howard, spoke on his past, present, & future in the sport.
by Envyah Caldwell and Dairion Peters
Sophomore running back Emadd Howard’s story started at a very young age. In his own words, “When I was younger, I used to always pick up the football and throw it around with some boys in my neighborhood. I learned plays as I started playing football in 6th grade.”
He played all throughout middle school as he attended Youth Middle and currently this is his third year playing high school football at WGHS. He said, “The person that inspired me to play football is Odell Beckham Jr.” Emadd continued, “My football season this year was fun, and I’m very proud of my achievements this year,” as he ended the season with over 1,313 yards and 13 rushing touchdowns. He recalled his working through an injury earlier in the season: “My ankle was injured, and it was the worst injury I think I’ve personally sustained. But, it made me come back even harder.” Howard's favorite memory from the season was when he and his teammates made it to the playoffs for the first time in Walnut Grove history. When he graduates, Howard stated “I plan on attending a power 5 college such as Alabama or Georgia. I’d hope to get a scholarship to Alabama though.” Five power colleges are the most prominent and highest earning athletic conferences in college football. For anyone who would want to play football at WGHS Howard's advice is, “Work hard and take care of your body.” The Blog Tags Widget will appear here on the published site.
