Members of the Future Business Leaders of America club at Walnut Grove High school participated in a variety of FBLA tests on February 15th. They competed in these state tests in order to move forward in preparing themselves for their successful careers in life and to show their place as a chapter of FBLA in the state of Georgia.

Members of the club, Ty’esha Brown, Madeline Mills, Cierra Long, and Grant Allen were interviewed about their experiences with the tests and about their time being a part of FBLA.

The members are given the opportunity to test in multiple different subjects. These subjects vary from business aspects to things like sports.

Ty’esha:
Q:
What did you test over? Is this your special interest or anything?
A: I tested over healthcare administration because I took healthcare classes, like the pathway. And I took that test because I had a lot of knowledge about healthcare already, and the values were the same.

Madeline:
Q:
How did the test feel with it being your first time?
A: It was a little nerve wracking, but overall, it was a good experience.

Q: How was the test formatted?
A: The test was formatted as multiple choice, and you had to answer 100 questions per test. We had to answer questions relating to the subject of the test. The test was online.

Q: What is FBLA to you?
A: I would say that FBLA is a good experience for my future. It gives me the ability to make connections with different students and to learn about business and leadership.

Q: What has FBLA taught you?
A: The different things that go into creating a good website and how to kind of keep my cool, too. It helps with that because testing used to be a little bit more stressful for me.

Cierra:
Q: Was the testing different from the first time you did it?
A: Yes because on the test we’ve taken recently, I didn’t have a partner. We weren’t testing with partners, but during my sophomore year I tested with another girl.

Q: How were you feeling during the test?
A: I thought it was easy. They’re not stressful mainly because I just didn’t really worry about it.

Grant:
Q:
What is it like being in FBLA?
A: It’s pretty fun, we went to Six Flags one time for a conference and that was cool.

Joining Grant at Six Flags were the other members of FBLA: Samuel Goins, Jason Gilbert, Stefana Frost, Sawyer Epps, Jaelyn Harris, Cierra Long, Madeline Mills, Emori Mauld-Lewis, Grant Allen, and Ty’esha Brown. They were chaperoned by teachers Mrs. Rutledge and Coach Phenix, who are the over-seerers of the club.
