The Georgia Bulldogs lost against The Alabama Crimson Tides on December 2, 2023 at Mercedes Benz Stadium.

The Georgia Bulldogs took their first loss after a 29 game win streak against Alabama at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Saturday. Alabama won with 27 points and Georgia lost with 24 points. After this game Alabama is ranked 5 while the Bulldogs have moved down to rank 6. This is a hard hit to Georgia especially since they were ranked #1 for so long during this current season.

Fans were also very shocked with how the game went on Saturday for Georgia. One sophomore at WGHS, Devan Cape, when asked about Georgia’s loss he stated, “I thought it was tough and they played good, but could’ve played better.” Devan was also surprised that Alabama was the one to take down Georgia since “Georgia played well and they won 29 straight games”. After the games on the weekend many of the playoff rankings have been entered but when asked what he thought about the rankings Devan stated, “They messed up the rankings of Florida State, they should’ve been in the playoffs.” Despite this, Devan is currently rooting for Washington, “I feel like they are the underdogs and I want them to win the championship.”

Many of the teams rankings have changed after last weekend's  games and here are a few of the rankings. At #5 is Florida State who has a win loss ratio of 13-0, #4 is Alabama who has a win loss ratio of 12-1, #3 is Texas with a win loss ratio of 12-1, #2 is Washington with a win loss ratio 13-0, and finally at #1 is Michigan with a win loss ratio of 13-0. With the season nearly coming to an end many are wondering if any more big games will change the course of the rankings.
