Senior, Rebecca Jenkins is a student athlete involved in many sports here at The Grove. Here is her insight on her senior year.

Over the past four years Rebecca Jenkins has become very involved in athletics here at The Grove. Rebecca has had to find a balance between softball, flag football, tennis and her academics. She has been playing sports since she was little, and has become a great athlete. “I’ve been playing softball since I was 4 years old, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve started playing more than just softball. I also play flag football and tennis for the school,” Becca states.

Being a student athlete can be challenging, but Becca seems to balance the two. “I have to be really good at managing my time and staying focused. Once I’m done with sports and I’m at home, I start working on my homework and I don’t get distracted too easily. Staying focused is really important, so that everything gets done. Sometimes I have to sacrifice hanging out with my friends so I can make sure all my work is done” Becca states.

With it being her senior year, it is known that things such as college and the next steps can be stressful for seniors. Becca’s future plans are “to play flag football in college. I’m looking at schools such as Reinhardt and Milligan, but I’m just debating on whether I’m going to go in state or out of state right now.” It is a big accomplishment for many athletes to play at the collegiate level, and Becca might be one of the many athletes to do so.

Rebecca is a great example of being a student-athlete and has just been named Female Athlete of the Month.
