Ryan Landers is a senior here at Walnut Grove High School. He is currently the captain of the soccer team, and wears #2 for the Warriors. The Walnut Grove soccer team is currently 7-4 on the season. Landers is the 250 ranked player in the nation and 131 ranked player in the state. (MaxPreps)
Ryan Landers has been playing soccer for a good bit. Looking back on what got him into soccer, Landers says, “My dad inspired me to play soccer.” He has also made many memories during his time here at Walnut Grove, especially on the soccer field. “My best memory on the team is beating Loganville in penalties my sophomore year. I got two assists.” In that game, the final score was 2-2 with Landers supplying both assists for the Warriors. The game went into a shootout, where Walnut Grove made 4 penalties and Loganville made 3. (MaxPreps) Outside of the soccer field, he credits soccer for helping him stay on track academically, stating, “Soccer has helped me with my academics by helping me strive to maintain all As and [becoming a] scholar athlete.” Furthermore, Landers has a bright future for him down the road. He is thankful for all that soccer has given him. Landers stated, “I plan to attend Georgia College and State University and major in Exercise Science.” He is ready for the next chapter.
