Here at Walnut Grove High School, freshman Hailey Malcolm is a bright and intriguing student. She has many goals and plans set for the next three years and cannot wait to achieve them all.

As a ninth grader, Hailey has time on her side with many opportunities to explore and utilize. Hailey’s plan after graduation is to go to school to become an emergency medical trauma surgeon. Here at Walnut Grove, we offer pathway courses that can help our students get their foot in the door to careers they may have an interest in.

As Hailey is on course to become a trauma surgeon, she plans to take and complete the healthcare pathway courses. These courses will allow Hailey to familiarize herself with the basics of the medical and healthcare field.

Hailey enjoys spending her time outside of school relaxing. Some of the things she does in her free time are "playing video games like Fortnite, but only sometimes." Hailey also enjoys "listening to music, J. Cole is my favorite artist. His music is inspirational and punchy." Another interest she expressed was her favorite TV show. "I’m excited for the new season of Outer Banks. It's my favorite TV show.” Hailey expressed.

Hailey appears to have a good idea of what her future holds for her. She has plenty of time to continue expanding her knowledge of her future career as a trauma surgeon and to explore any other fields she may find interesting.

Not only does she plan to complete the healthcare pathway, but she is also involved in Walnut Grove’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) pathway.
