This week the VIRIDIAN news gets to tell you about the interesting life of Sam Smith, a senior here at WGHS.
by Ruby Aderhold
Sam Smith is a part of many clubs including drama club, chorus, reading bowl, and TSA. Not only that, but he was also a part of Safe Club and Eco-Warriors. “My favorite [activity] has definitely been drama. I participated in it for many years in high school, and I’ve done shows. I’ve gotten some awards and I’ve become an honor thespian. TSA is also great because I do the board game every year and we win. We’ve gotten first place.”
When Sam was asked to describe his high school experience he said, “It’s definitely had highs and lows, but overall I’d say it’s been pretty good. I’ve made lots of friends, and I’ve had new experiences. It’ll be great to leave and start my own life.” Sam says that he feels great about graduating. “I’m really ready to leave. I’ve been waiting to go on to bigger and better things. I’ve gotten all of my stuff taken care of. I’m going to Georgia Southern for college. My dorm applications have been seen, so it’s pretty cool.” Sam says if he had to give any advice to freshmen it would be, “Always be open to trying new things. If you don’t know what a club is then go to a meeting about it, because if you don’t your high school experience could be sucky.”
