WGHS Students Misty Proffitt, Zoe Moser, Wyatt Shaner, and James Burke share their experiences over Spring Break.
by Lochlan Chastain and Cheyenne Seagraves
Misty Proffitt (Junior) went to Nashville for her Spring break, while she was there, she went to a Good Friday concert that contained singers such as: Chris Tomlin, Laney Wilson, and Anne Wilson. She continues to say that Willie from Duck Dynasty also made an appearance. “I was kind of fangirling, sadly Si wasn’t there.” She continued to describe her night, “ And we all had these light-up bracelets. We had different colors, it was really cool.”
The next day she did an escape room with her mom and her boyfriend’s family and unfortunately failed, but they were close to finishing. “Later, on Saturday night, I went to a Nashville soccer game. It was really cool, we were [in] the fourth row, [so] it’s like right at the field basically,” she says. She came back on Sunday, and that following Wednesday she got her hair done, “It’s blonder… it’s giving Barbie.”
She had a lot of coffee over the break. “I went to Dunkin’ and hung out with her sister. I went to Caribou Coffee, it was really good.” She also went to Smoothie King and Ulta, “I got some skin care with my own money. I get a lot of Byoma stuff- I got a toner, I got some more serums, I got the La Roche Posay face wash, I got some new lip gloss, the “Squeeze Me” lip balm, I have two of them now. The vanilla frosting and the strawberry [ones].” She finishes by saying, “ I also went to church, and I hung out with my boyfriend. We went to Top Golf and we [also] went to Starbucks.”
Zoe Moser (Sophomore) went to Panama City Beach. She had a lot of fun, “We celebrated my birthday- my birthday was on Easter. I went with some of my friends from a different school.” She stayed for a whole week and met up with some of her other friends there. She says her favorite thing that she did at the beach was lay out and tan. She continued, “Most of the time, it was double red flags, so I couldn’t get in the water.” She shopped around, but the only thing she got was a bracelet because she was saving her money for Seaside, [Florida]. She'll definitely shop there. “I was on a cruise for the entire week. The cruise went to Bimini and Nassau, I didn’t get to go to Carnival’s Private Island due to the water being too rocky. I went with 11 other people. My family and I watched Gran Turismo and went with my friend’s family. We all had a perfect time!” - James Burke (Junior) “On Sunday, I went to church, then Monday to Thursday I went to Alabama to see my grandparents. We had so much fun. Thursday we got home and unpacked and chilled out. My friends and I went to Six Flags and it was amazing. There were no lines and no one was there. We got to ride every ride. On Saturday, my dad and I cut some trees and chopped the logs into firewood. Finally, on Sunday, I went to my friend’s church to check it out. The break went by a little too quickly. We should’ve had a longer break because we were in school for so long. The break should’ve been another week.” - Wyatt Shaner (Junior) Spring Break marks the last break for the 2023-2024 school year at WGHS. Excluding this week, students have 5 and a half weeks left of school. VIRIDIAN News hopes everyone enjoyed their break. This is the final stretch.
