You read the title, folks. All I have to say first is, yes. Super Mario Bros. Wonder was worth the wait. I highly recommend you check it out before reading this, I like it when people get their own opinions first.

With that being said, Super Mario Bros. Wonder is quite definitely the best Super Mario Bros. game I have ever played. Everything about it feels so correct to play; it controls like, well, a wonder! The game kicks off with Mario and the gang on their way to visit Prince Florian at the Flower Kingdom; Prince Florian wants to show them all the Wonder Flower and its magical power… but, of course; Bowser has other plans. Bowser swoops down and steals the wonder flower, fusing with its power and turning into Prince Florian’s castle! He plans on wreaking havoc across all the land. It’s up to Mario, Luigi, Ala-gold, Buckenberry, Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, Prince Florian, a whole lotta Yoshis (and yes, even Nabbit) to try and stop him. The new wonder effects in each level give all of the levels such charm and spirit, not to mention all the attention to detail they have all about the game. I’ll keep this spoiler free, but some of the effects featured in the game can either turn you into enemies, be a big musical number, or really anything you can imagine! Now, of course, it isn’t a Super Mario Bros. game without bosses, is it? Don’t fret, Bowser Jr. has you covered! Occasionally there will be a fortress, and you have to travel up the fortress to get to, you guessed it, Bowser Jr. in order to get a royal seed and stop Bowser Jr. from messing up the land, but due to Bowser being infused with the wonder flower, he decides to help his son out for each fight, which winds up resulting in some wild yet fun battles. There are also badges, which Prince Florian can wear in order to change the game up in different ways, often they can make the game easier on you, or other times they can make the game 12 times harder, the invisibility badge does this specifically. It’s cool how much they put into the game. There isn’t much else I can really mention about the game without spoiling something, so I’ll just sign off saying that this is my new favorite Mario game to date, and everything about it is so astonishingly good. You have a good day now ;) The Blog Tags Widget will appear here on the published site.
