With the anticipated prom season approaching, WGHS Warriors give intel on expected prom trends. With fashion evolving every year, this year's trends will bring a lot of fun and colorful looks to prom.
Senior Devion Welch says, "I want to see something different this year." After telling us where he gets his prom attire from. "I have someone who hooks me up with custom drip. I send over my inspiration and he customizes everything for me. It’s 2023, who even shops in person nowadays? My grandma probably," exclaimed Welch. Senior Kristopher Simon stated, "I want to see more branched out outfits since it is our senior year." Straying away from the theme (Enchantment Under the Sea), he explained that his prom outfit will be a take on a "Formal Cowboy". Past trends for prom have been tight dresses with sequins, lace, floral patterns, and two piece dresses. This year senior Ryley Baker explains how she has been seeing "lots of big poofy dresses" in stores and anticipates that many may wear this style of dress. Sherri Hill is a very popular designer brand. They make a lot of formal dresses and are very popular during prom and homecoming season. Each year they come out with a new collection and for the Spring 2023 Collection there are a lot of designs that we haven’t seen before, such as corset tops, align dresses, floral prints, and some two piece dresses. Senior Kayla Stewart mentioned that she has been seeing lots of feathers and ruffles being incorporated within dress designs. Another student Destiny Robertson made claims that "A lot of people in the past have shied away from extravagant beaded [dresses,] but now are going for that look." The Walnut Grove prom will be held on Saturday April 22nd at the Walton Mill in Monroe, Ga. With the theme being Enchantment Under the Sea. We are excited to see everyone's looks this year.
