Can the Dawgs Make History?
The Georgia Bulldogs are on the verge of even more greatness. They have a chance to be one of the only teams in CFB history to win three consecutive National Championships, and the only team in the CFP era to win three consecutive and the second team to win three championships (Alabama in 2015, 2017 and 2020). The Bulldogs are closer than most think to achieving it. Although according to ESPN the bulldogs only have a 37% chance to make the CFP after Week 1, the Bulldogs have a relatively easier schedule for the 2023 season.
WGHS Predictions (and Mr. Ulrey)
Many students at WGHS are Georgia Bulldog fans. Others, prefer a different team. Like Florida or Alabama, or maybe even the newcomers Colorado or Ohio State.

Varsity Football Starter D’lante Overstreet says, “I would say Bama [Alabama], Ohio State, I really think Colorado could sneak in [the CFP], and probably Michigan.”

D’lante has been on quite a few College visits for football. But when questioned about which was the best, he said, “Definitely Clemson. They had a good atmosphere, their campus is beautiful and their locker room is amazing.” His favorite team is the Alabama Crimson Tide and he has them winning it all this year.

Newspaper Founder and a man who dwells in the woodworking industry, Mr. Ulrey was asked about CFB as well. When asked about the CFP Championship, he said, ““That is hard to say so early in the season. A lot of teams looked really good this past Saturday. I was actually unpleasantly surprised by FSU beating LSU, I’m not a fan of the Seminoles. Their big rivals. But you got your big schools like Georgia’s hoping to 3-peat, we’ve got Ohio State for some reason. As always they're always in the mix, which I don’t think they should be, but I’d like to see an SEC team win. As long as it’s not Alabama. That’s the one team I wouldn’t want to see win.” But when he was put to a question of who the most underrated team was, he boldly stated, “Again, we’re so early in the season. I feel like UCF goes underrated every year, and they play really, really well. I have no idea what they’re gonna be like this year though. But, who knows.” Wise words from Mr. Ulrey.

(Mr. Ulrey declined to comment on Florida’s chances this year.)

The College Football season is in full swing. On Thursday September 7th, the NFL kicked off with the Detroit Lions beating the Kansas City Chiefs, the reigning Super Bowl Champions. The season continues on Sunday September 10th, kicking into full gear.
