Christmas is right around the corner and it's time for all of Christmas movie favorites to come out. With our Christmas decorations, fireplaces, and quality family time, movies also have to make an appearance.
The Polar Express is a very popular Christmas movie. As a kid, I watched it in elementary school and I was scared of it. The animation of the film is very realistic but in a scary way. Now that I'm older, it's not as scary but it still creeps me out a bit. The movie circles the importance of believing and the value of friendship. Around the entire movie, they’re trying to get the main character to believe in Santa and just instill hope in one another. Eventually, in the end, he believes and understands the meaning of Christmas, especially how important it is to others around him. Something that doesn't matter as much to him, could matter a lot to someone else.
Watching this movie now feels very nostalgic. It makes me want to warm up a cup of hot chocolate, light a nice fire, and snuggle up with a comfortable blanket. The vibes that the Polar Express provides are immensely comforting. I rate this movie a 7.5 out of 10. Despite my rating, I recommend a watch. It isn't the best Christmas movie I have ever seen. However, I do enjoy it and I love the characters.
The Grinch Stole Christmas is one of my favorite Christmas movies. I enjoy the comedy that it contains, the actors, and the set. The casting of Jim Carey for The Grinch was the best thing that the production could've ever done. One of my favorite parts is the costumes. The Whos from Whoville look so realistic as well as the Grinch. His character development is always the best part of the acting. He went from hating everyone and everything to loving it. Growing up and being bullied for looking different took a toll on his personality. The meaning of this movie shows that it's okay to be different. That it is possible to be loved by many, even with mean people in the world. Allowing to see the light in the darkness, sometimes needing help from others to do so.
I vividly remember crying at the end of this movie, I think it is so beautiful. The message that they are trying to convey is prevalent within the story. I rate this movie a 10/10, I highly recommend this movie for any person of all ages. It is a nice movie to watch with family and friends.
Elf is probably one of the best Christmas movies, in my opinion. I feel like most people would agree. It stars Will Ferrell, who plays Buddy. It was released in 2003, and is about a baby that accidentally is taken to the north pole, and as he gets older, he’s finally told that he’s not an elf. He can’t help but feel like he doesn’t fit in, so he decides to leave the north pole and seek out his biological family. Buddy finds his father, but he doesn’t believe Buddy is his son, so they end up taking a DNA test, which untimely proves he is his biological son. His father attempts to start a relationship, and Buddy ends up causing all kinds of trouble. I think this movie is a family favorite to most.
I’d give it a 10/10, it’s funny, it’s interesting and I just love it.
Home Alone is another one of those popular, well-known movies that everyone looks forward to at Christmas time. Home Alone is about a kid who’s family is about to go on a trip to Paris. He gets in trouble the night before and says he wished he never had a family, and the next morning, they’re all gone and they accidentally left him behind. As he’s celebrating his wish of not having a family come true, two men try to rob the house. The film consists of him creating ways to fool these robbers and keep them from stealing, or causing damage in his home.
I would give this movie a 7/10 because I think it’s overrated and over played. The Blog Tags Widget will appear here on the published site.
