WGHS students give a quick review of the new Amazon Prime Original movie Road House, and how students at Walnut Grove felt about it and whether it is worth it to sit down and watch it.
by Malachi Lovett
Alayna McKinney (Junior) speaks on how she felt about the length of the movie, “I feel like it was a little too long for my liking. I don't have a very good attention span either so that could be the problem too.” She mentions Conor McGregor did very well in his first movie. His being the highest-paid debut actor is a little crazy just because he's a fighter, but it was deserved because he did well.
When giving a brief description of the movie she had to say, The movie was basically about how this rich dude's son is trying to build this resort and somehow this small bar is blocking them. She remarks, “I don’t know how this little bar blocks them, but they need people to trash it, so the owner's daughter can like sell it to them, so they can tear it down, but she doesn’t want to." She continues saying they get people to trash the place and that’s when she finds Dalton, and he helps beat those people up because he’s really good at fighting. “How did the whole town just magically know how to fight and were just willing to fight? I would immediately run to my car if someone came into the bar smashing tables with a golf club.” She then states how the whole plot of the movie was kind of strange. The town didn’t even look that rich, so why do they need that whole area for a resort? Could they have not just moved the resort slightly over they owned everything else? Dalton Hewell (Junior) commenting on the movie says, “I feel like it was a bit too long.... The whole first half of the movie could have been shortened a lot or just cut out completely. But I mean it’s expected Amazon Prime does make movies that could be a little more than an hour long, but they need their ad revenue so the bank is a bank.”
He then speaks on the UFC fighter newly found actor Conor McGregor saying, “I love my boy... I think he was a great choice for the role of a psycho because the character that he tries to portray in the UFC is honestly like the character in the movie.” He then goes on to say, “I think he should have got paid more than what they paid him. He should have doubled the last highest-paid debut actors' pay.”
"The movie was just fighting over this stupid Road House that did not affect anyone, but this dude that has the same name as me comes and is a bouncer for this bar. I think the son was just trying to live up to his daddy’s expectations and place the resort exactly where it was supposed to be but his dad was in jail. But why is he still listening to him?” He finishes by remarking, “I feel like that whole city was just a GTA game, like literally the smallest things would cause these huge bar fights. Plus Conor McGregor was stealing cars and boats just to fight. He was walking around nude in some random city.” Road House just premiered as an Amazon Prime Original March 8th and has a 6.2 star rating on IMDB.com. It's an action packed movie with a lot of hand to hand contact starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Irish UFC fighter Conor McGregor. The Blog Tags Widget will appear here on the published site.
