How the Cafe Began
The Warrior Cafe is a place for people to buy coffee and connect with other students. The origin of the cafe started with Mrs. Emily Smith. She wanted to bring a happy addition to the school cafeteria. Sara Thomas shared, “Mrs. Smith came up with the idea for the Cafe. She thought it would help with tardies since many students would stop to get coffee before school.” This process took some time but ended up turning into something the school loves. Sara says, “Some other students and I started to break down everything that we would need to get the process started. We calculated the prices of all the ingredients and supplies we would need; we put a hardworking team together, and we started to design our logo.” Mrs. Smith sent out emails to students to get their rough drafts of the logo. She says, “The design of our logo and brand was very simple and still represented our school, so we agreed that was best [chosen].” Student Reviews WGHS students who have purchased coffee from the Warrior Cafe are raving about the drinks the store offers. Tenth grader, Brandon Hawthorne, bought the caramel cold brew. “I enjoyed the taste and the quality of the drink,” he remarked about the taste of the cold brew. The pricing for a regular cold brew is good, but he wishes the cafe would add more sizes in the future. Eleventh grader, Lily Penn, purchased the caramel frappuccino. “I liked that it was icy almost like a slushy,” she observes about the drink she bought from the cafe. Lily explains that she doesn’t like coffee, so she hopes the store will add more frappuccino options. Tenth grader, Brandi Thomas, ordered the vanilla latte. “...it was good,” Brandi explains about the taste of the latte. “I would like to try the caramel frappuccino next,” she says. To her, it’s a reasonable price for a coffee, and it’s cheaper than Starbucks which makes the Warrior Cafe superior in price. Brandi states, “They should add some refreshers to the menu.”
