On March 15, Walnut Grove's tennis team played a Pink-Out match against Social Circle, acknowledging and supporting Coach Conner. "Conner Strong" was the message portrayed not only on the players' shirts but through the entire theme of the match.

Player Jason Gittens spoke about how inspiring this was for him and his teammates: “We wanted to show support and unity behind her.” Jason explained that in doing this event the team hoped to show that even though unexpected things happen in life, you have a strong team behind you.

The team came together and organized different baskets and gifts to give to their coach. And they have been making sure to be really diligent in their recent practices. In doing so, they have given greater attention to listening to Coach Remely, to show their appreciation. Gittens stated “As of recently, [Coach Conner] hasn’t been able to be there as much or stay for the entire game. But, she definitely tries to be there when she can, [and] she offers us coaching points and communicates through Coach Remely.”

This continuous show of their support can be seen throughout each game. Gittens sends a message to anyone who has cancer or going through this with a family member or friend: “As someone born with cancer, I say: trust the doctors. Go through the process. I know it's hard, but there is a light at the end of every tunnel.”

The team will continue to support each other and their coach throughout the rest of this season as they spread awareness.
